¶ So came Jacob to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan: (the same is Bethel) he and all the people that were with him.

And he built there an altar, and (A)had called the place, The God of Bethel, because that God appeared unto him there, when he fled from his brother.

But Deborah Rebekah’s nurse died, and was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and he called the name of it [a]Allon Bachuth.
